Extra Stuff?

Usually one of the things that I do during breaks is role play, which is not really a break since I end up in Photoshop either way. So, I just wanted to share with everyone the map I did for the rp I'm in ATM. ^^

Araway Kingdom

The base of the map is an antique high resolution paper picture. Then I just added the bordering lines based on a real map that had the same divisions I wanted. Mountains, forest and the lakes are all PS brushes, same for the flourished decorations and frames. <3

Playing around with Illustrator & Photoshop

I have to admit Adobe Illustrator wasn't one of my top 5 softwares... but! in the last few days I decided to give it another try and the results were far better than I expected. I used PS to add some of the textile textures and patterns. Enjoy!

White Jeans!

As you may have noticed, I really like drawing on fabric. I've started a new pair of jeans that I've found quite recently in the bottom of my closet.

Here is the beginning of it! =]

Jeans by Commission!

People seem to like my "Wearable Tattoos on Jeans" idea. One of them so much that asked me to fill up a pair of her jeans with my personal style designs... and since I love this girl to death, plus I admire and fan-out her amazing talent as a fellow artist, I couldn't wait to start!

She requested a more... dark tone, "Giger" kind of feeling. So this is what I came up with!

Wearable Tattoos on Jeans

I can only say I started this whole thing due to my love for tattoos and increasing desire to learn tattooing.

I started by making several sketches of ideas floating on my head of possibles tattoos that I would love to have but not sure if ever get, considering also that I firmly wanted that all tattoos I might possible get would me of my own design (what else can you expect from a designer =/ )

So I grabbed my old destroyed pair of jeans (if you must know, I'm not a big fan of pants in general =P) and with sharpie in hand drew my very first sketch for this "project":

Original Sketch on Tracing paper

Design on jeans.

It pretty much represents my love for Dia de los Muertos style and Catrinas. I wanted to add a bit more "Classic Tattoo-ish" style to it so I placed the roses with the type "Voodoo Queen" on the top. And... thats pretty much how everything started =]

Many were added later on and I can say that this pants are almost unwearable of how much I have used them! They are my walking portfolio!

Forget Me Not.

I know I vanished for quite a while due to merch making, but! I decided to experiment with a bit more of Art Nouveau and acrylics on canvas and this are the results so far!

It is my first time doing something on an actual canvas instead of paper so I am really excited and looking forward to it!

It all started one day while I was listening to "Headless Waltz" by Voltaire, a song inspired in Marie Antoinette  and then the movie instantly came up to my mind (Marie Antoinette with Kristen Dust). Since I've always loved the scenery and costuming of the movie I felt compelled to make my own version of it OwO.

Although the sketch started with that purpose, I changed the concept halfway through it when the Forget-me-not started to come along. The hairpiece came along after the flowers and I wanted to make them similar to the jewelry and hairpieces I've been making, inspired by Art Nouveau.

Summer Project

So! School is over for the time being and now I find myself with free hands and an unstressed mind! A new project was due so I wouldn't lose my head to the hands of laziness, starting from today I'm going to sketch away and come up with at least one good sketch a day.

I started today and these are my results! OwO

Hope you enjoy them as much as I did when drawing them. Some might even make it to the coloring stage!

This madness started as an experiment with acrylics and makeup out of boredom one day being alone in my apartment. The first results apparently brought the attention of several of my friends, making them want to join!

So! with acrylic splashes and many free hours, these are the results!
