Alchemy: Law of Equivalent Exchange

Greetings everyone!! For those who do not know, I'm a big Alchemy fan! I had the opportunity to play around with it for a project. The assignment itself was very interesting, so I decided to indulge my Muse and represent the Law of Equivalent Exchange: "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy’s first Law of Equivalent Exchange."


With touches of symbolism, alchemy and watercolor, this is the final piece!

The background and transmutation circle was added later on on Adobe Photoshop CS3. Hope you all enjoy it!

Vines & Memories

Hello all! Here is one of my favorite diptych piece I've done! It is heavily traditional media with digital adjustments. 



8x16 Watercolor / Photoshop.




The process started with graphite and pen:


passing it to a thick watercolor paper:






These were a lot of fun to do, they also required a lot of patience, coffee and lack of sleep... but! as different phases of life they balance each other and propose a less scary version of our "last days". I believe metamorphosis is way better than crippled-old-man O_O.
